Tucson: A Brief Escape in the Desert
I took a short trip to Tucson, a blend of business and a little pleasure. Though the time was fleeting, just two nights, it became a quiet reminder of how even the shortest journeys can offer renewal.
I stayed at the Loews Ventana Canyon, one of my favorite resorts and a true desert sanctuary. Nestled against the Catalina Mountains and surrounded by towering saguaro cactus, the landscape felt like a gentle embrace from the Southwest itself. Everywhere I turned, I was reminded of the beauty of stillness and the vastness of the desert sky.
Most of my time was dedicated to supporting a company event, but I gave myself permission to soften into the moments in between. One night was for work, the other for me. Even with so little time, I felt the comfort of being away from the familiar, a small but much-needed rest from home.
There was charm in the simplicity of it all: the crisp desert air, the mountain views shifting with the light, the quiet of a retreat designed to slow you down. It wasn’t the long, lingering escape I craved, but it was enough to remind me that rest doesn’t always need to be long to be meaningful.
I can’t wait to return one day without the weight of work, to fully exhale and allow myself to savor everything Tucson has to offer.
Always dreaming,
